theres many references to flowers. "purple clover." Before injecting heroin, the blood mixes with the substance and creates a flower-like thing.
"right on target so direct" - another shooting reference.
"relationships have all been bad...like verlaine's or rimbaud...But theres no way i can compare these scenes to this affair" -obviously cant compare human relationships to narcotic affairs.
